For our client in the finance industry we are looking for a Head of ESG and Communications with experience from working with topics related to ESG / CSRD. This is a parental leave and a full-time position for a period of 7 months based in Stockholm.
About the role:
The position is part of the CFO Office function and demands significant leadership to drive the Taxonomy and Scope reporting work, with ample support from other stakeholders.
Document and policy revision is a part of the role to ensure all practices meet the current standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sustainability Leadership: Spearheaded the CSRD readiness workstream, focusing on the execution of a defined strategy and plan. This includes managing double materiality assessments, identifying and closing gaps, and overseeing internal controls, data disclosure management, and ESG risks.
- Communication Management: Handle all external communications and support PR activities, both reactively and proactively. Manage inquiries, support group management and spokespersons with Q&A and messaging, and prepare communications from the CEO for quarterly reports.
- Media and Public Affairs: Engage in media monitoring, provide support during potential incidents, develop social media strategies for specific scenarios, and drive the public affairs agenda to position them effectively on critical issues.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate external communication with key stakeholders such as investors, closely working with the Head of Investor Relations and CEO. This role also involves internal communication duties in collaboration with the HR department.
- Reporting and Collaboration: Report ESG progress monthly to the ESG Committee, and quarterly to owners/investors and the Group Management Team. Collaborate extensively with the ESG Controller, CFO, CEO, and heads of Risk, Compliance, Legal, Credit/Analytics, Strategy, and Financial Planning.
- Ongoing ESG Tasks: Manage third-party questionnaires and maintain continuous dialogues.
To be successful in this role, we believe you meet the following criteria:
- Strong experience in ESG frameworks and communication management.
- Previous experience in working with topics related to CSRD
- Ample experience in PR & communication
- Proven ability to handle strategic planning and execution within a corporate setting.
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
